Industrial automation and social life has been reshaped with the help of robots. The study and use of robots is called robotics. Robot is derived from the word ‘robota’. Science Fiction has already declared robots as futuristic machines.With the rise of advancement in the field of electronics, mechanical, computer, information technology, Scientists are trying hard to practically realise the machine. The definition given by ROBOTICS INSTITUTE OF AMERICA for robots is  “The robot is a reprogrammable manipulator designed to move special devices, some parts, tools. For tedious, dirty, dangerous tasks robots are best to replace humans.

Robots don’t fear, have tiredness, lack of interest, so there are no constraints in achieving targets.With so much power in robots, nowadays robots are actively used for doing many jobs like assembling, painting, polishing, welding, drilling, pick and place, sorting etc. They are free from many problems which humans are bound to.


Sensors 

Sensors tell us about the condition of the robots. To check appropriate behaviour of robots, robot sensor signals are passed to the controller. Like the human body has organs, robot sensors  function like these.

Robots have to use sensors to know the world around them.They require ample information about their environment to function properly.There are a lot of sensors robots use like ultrasonic , temperature check.
